What is Epoxy Silicone Fluid

Epoxy Silicone Fluid are epoxy-terminated polydimethylsiloxane, which is a reactive intermediate silicone fluid. With high epoxy retention rate, it is directly used in the production of middle and high-end ternary copolymer silicone fluid.

Molecular structure characteristics of Epoxy Silicone Fluid

• The main chain is polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) with an epoxy group grafted on the end.

• Some products are multi-component copolymers, the main chain may contain polyethenoxy ether, polyester or amide groups to form a linear block copolymer.

Synthesis method of Epoxy Silicone Fluid

Prepared by silica-hydrogen addition reaction: Hydrogen-containing silicone oil is reacted with epoxy olefin (e.g. allyl glycidyl ether) over a platinum catalyst, replacing the hydrogen atom to form an epoxy-capped structure.

Uses of Epoxy Silicone Fluid

• Linear modified silicone oil with end - group reactivity.

• Silicone block copolymer silicone oil softener key intermediate raw materials.

• Used in organic resin to improve toughness and reduce internal stress.

• Epoxy resin mold release agent.
